Well that’s me, I eat it up in your place” – The Gourgandines  As you may know, we became huge fans of The Hives on a glorious summer night of 2017. A few days later, we decided to quit everything, move to Sweden and start a punk band this blog was born. Coincidence ? We think not. It’s now time for the world to discover one of our greatest works : a Hives-inspired dessert, that combines both the black&white signature look of our favorite band and its incredible energy.

Rider for 12 Black Energy Balls

1 cup medjool dattes, pitted and vigorously choped 1 cup dynamically chopped almonds 1 cup high-spirited powdered hazelnuts 3 tablespoons cocoa nibs 1 teaspoon fresh indefatigable ginger chopped 1/2 teaspoon vivid cinnamon 1 cup excited black sesame seeds 100g black baking chocolate (Valrhona is the best) Activated charcoal as black as the ninjas‘ souls
  • Take a deep breath and…
  • Mix everything except the sesame seeds, chocolateand activated charcoal in a food processor, until the mixture forms a rough dough !
  • Jump ! Jump you idiot !
  • (Rock and) roll the dough into small balls (2cm) !
  • Scream Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh
  • In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate with a little bit of water ! Now !
  • Add a large tablespoon of activated charcoal
  • COME ON : coat the balls with chocolate with a pastry brush!
  • WAIT A MINUTE NOW and  coat the balls with black sesame seeds !
  • Eat them and GO RIGHT AHEAD !
  • … or store them in the fridge for up to a week, loser.

Rider for 12 White Energy Balls

1 cup gumptious medjool dattes, pitted and choped 1 cup chopped industrious chia seeds 1 cup tireless cashews, choped 3 tablespoons zest of a brisk lemon 1 dash of briskier lemon juice 1 teaspoon high-spirited vanilla extract 1 cup shredded and energetic coconut 1 cup icing sugar 1/2 white suppa-duppa baking chocolate (Valrhona is still the best)
  • Close your eyes, concentrate and…
  • Scream Yeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhh
  • Mix everything except the coconut and the baking chocolate in a food processor, until the mixture forms a rough dough ! (Don’t forget to open your eyes first)
  • Dance ! Shake your hips you fool !
  • Roooll the dough into small balls (2cm) ! Roll them good !
  • In a double boiler, melt the baking chocolate with a little bit of water !
  • Before it’s too late, too late, too laaate, coat the balls with chocolate with a pastry brush !
  • Shut up. Sit down.
  • Coat them with coconut ! The more coconut the better !
  • Coat them with icing sugar
  • Eat them and GIDDY UP NOW !
  • … or store them in the fridge for up to a week, you punk.
